Midtown luxury apartments will start construction after winning approval — in 2015

A project that would turn a vacant midtown office building into luxury apartments has been resurrected, and work should start within a week.  

The project at 3420 Broadway, dubbed Midtown Plaza, will be built in phases and includes the conversion of an office building into 107 luxury apartments in the first phase, to be complete in 2020. The site is near Metropolitan Community College and Kansas City Life Insurance Co.
